    @A Xo

Here is a Wikipedia article about the grading system in different time periods ( in Swedish): https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skolbetyg_i_Sverige

For the years 1897 - 1962 the system was as follows:

    A

    Berömlig (Commendable)

    a

Med utmärkt beröm godkänd (Pass with honors)

    AB

Med beröm godkänd (Pass with distinction)

    Ba

Icke utan beröm godkänd (Pass not without praise)

    B

    Godkänd (Pass)

    BC

Icke fullt godkänd (Not fully satisfactory)

    C

    Underkänd/Otillräcklig (Failed/Not sufficient)

To these can also be added:

    B?

med tvekan godkänd (Pass with hesitation)

... which was not an official grade level but appeared in printed semester grades. Commonly used grading levels on tests etc. were designations such as Ba+ and AB? or AB-.

For the years 1962 - 1994 a number grading system was applied:

According to the regulation, the grades of all pupils in the country taking a particular subject course were to be distributed as follows

    5 - 7% Best grade
    4 - 24%
    3 - 38%
    2 - 24%
    1 - 7% Worst grade

0.5 steps (e.g. 1.5 or 2.5) were not official, but used informally.
