1. the laborer Johann Michael Rosenau, recognized by the certificate of the mayor's office in Erpel, of Protestant religion, born on 2 December 1855 in Erpel, Kolmar district, residing in Erpel, Kolmar district in Prussia, son of the resident Michael Rosenau and his wife Wilhelmina, née Plagens, residing in Erpel.
2. the widow Auguste Wilhelmine Schnarr, née Fikowski /:Witkowski:/, recognized by the certificate of the mayor's office in Rownopole, of Protestant religion, born on 7 November 1848 at Motkowo now Kaisersdorf, resident at Erpel Rownopole, daughter of the journeyman carpenter Christoph Fikowski and his wife Caroline née Ventzke, residing at Rownopole.

In the presence of the witnesses, the registrar asked the fiancés individually and one after the other whether they declared their intention to marry each other. The fiancés answered this question in the affirmative and the registrar then pronounced that they were now legally joined as husband and wife.

Many thanks! I was wondering what the margin note said. So by the way it is worded, is it safe to say the parents are all living at the time of the marriage? Or is that detail left to the discretion of the registrar?
