I don't know if this will work. If it does not, I understand. This is a page from a churchbook on Ancestry. If it can be opened, my question concerns record #55 for Irene Marg. Francisca and my question is about the special note at the end on the right-side page. I just need a translation of that special note that was entered about their marriage.

It looks like : "Matrim. mixtum inüt dir 26 Apr. 1920 in Eccia St. Aloisii, Detroit, Mich. cum Elmer Schuette".

I would interpret that as "Mixed marriage with Elmer Schuette on 26 April, 1920 at St. Aloysius, Detroit Michigan." Mixed meaning that the groom was not Catholic - however St. Aloysius is a Catholic church and I thought that the groom would have had to convert in order for the marriage to occur in a Catholic Church?

@JohnsonGreg Conversion not required. I have many instances in my research, including close family. Generally, a promise to raise the children in the faith and not interfere with the spouse's adherence to the faith is sufficient. If I could attach images, I would, since I have a sizable file of mixed marriages.

Thank you for the help. I had an aunt who was not Catholic but she was baptized about two weeks before the marriage so she could be married in the church.

Also if I want to share a record from Ancestry on this site, is what I did sufficient or is there a better way to share an Ancestry record? THANKS

@Steve Schell when you are viewing a record on Ancestry, look for the "Share" button. That will create a URL to allow those without a subscription to view the record.
