Death of a well-known German citizen.
At his home, 2811 LaSalle Street, on Saturday, half past 10 o'clock, Mr. Philipp F Maag, aged 55, died of intestinal inflammation. He was president of the Chouteau Valley Men's Choir for many years, a delegate of the Ver. Singers from St. Louis and member of the Baden Support Association - singer in general; a well-known and generally popular personality in club and club circles.
Mr. Maag was born in the Grand Duchy of Baden and came to this country in 1860. As a member of a New York regiment he took part in the Civil War and then moved from the East to St Louis. He leaves behind a wife and the following children: Louis J. Maag, Mrs. Meta M. Wochner, Mrs. Sophie Dirker, Miss Marie Maag and Philipp H. Maag. The funeral will take place this afternoon and the body will be cremated in the crematorium.
