Imports from old PAF GEDCOM files may be very different than the current FamilySearch Family Tree
If a potential user imports their CET from an old PAF GEDCOM or from another program the differences between the standardized FamilySearch Family Tree and the old or non-standard family tree may be significantly more extensive.

User research has shown that most users who this feature has been primarily meant for maintain their best research conclusions in one of the common genealogy software products, either on the web or desktop. We have made the API enhancements required for CET available to all of them and anticipate that many will adopt the API enhancements. It is hoped that as genealogy software products release versions that support CET, that very little new data will come via Gedcom file upload and that most will come through the API. If a user is uploading an old file, it is almost certain that Family Tree will have additional data.
In order to pull data from Family Tree into your CET, we are working on matching the CET vs Family Tree to generate matches between the two. We are also building a new SourceLinker-like tool that will align two trees and allow the user to evaluate "Are these people the same as those people?" and to copy data (notes, sources, life events, new people, etc) between the two trees to resolve discrepancies.0 -
Thank you very much for your input and testing to help develop this new product. Please watch the announcements for future enhancements and supported features such as a SourceLinker type tool. As you know, the engineers are still working on the development of this product and have set priorities for rolling out those enhancements.
Again, thank you for your valuable assistance with this product.
