Wonderful, and thanks for the link.
In 2019 we visited the Zürich Archives. They were very helpful and showed us how to read a little German and locate documents on the Sidler line.
Apparently G(e)richtsherr Salomon Hirzels zu Kempten was not a citizen of Kempten.

Kempten is not an independent place of citizenship - it's a quarter within Wetzikon. If you check the Register of Swiss Surnames you'll find that Wetzikon (amongst others) is a place of citizenship for Hirzel.
So - how should we interpret the "zu Kempten"? A plausible explanation might be: there is no information "von …" - could indicate that Salomon Hirzel was actually a local citizen - but the pastor just wanted to list in which quarter he lived, to differentiate from several other Hirzel families living somewhere else in the parish of Wetzikon. I am not exactly sure about the situation around 1800 - but today Wetzikon includes the quarters Ober- and Unterwetzikon, Kempten (including a Burg - no longer existing), Ettenhausen, Medikon, Robenhausen and Linggenberg-Robank.
Also, please, keep in mind that my explanation for "von …" and "zu …" was a general guideline, not fixed by law. Each pastor may have had his own habits. It is still not fixed by law - but widely accepted nowadays.
