Please translate the birth record for Karl Erik DOB: 28 March 1900 in Gillberga, Värmland.

Arkivdigital CI:12 Page 48. It doesn't make sense because it says that he is illegitimate but then lists a Father. I'm sure I'm missing something. Please translate the right side as well.

Thanks, Sheri

He is illegitimate because his parents aren't married not because his father is unknown.

He is born March 28 and christened April 1.

His father is tanner Oscar Olsson. The note under his name is "Från Seffle hvilken erkänd sig som barnets fader" which translates as "from Seffle (Säffle) who acknowledged himself as the child's father".

His mother is seamstress Lovisa Eriksson in Esketan. She was born 17 February 1873.

There is a tick-mark for her in the column marked "unmarried".

She and Karl Erik can be found on page 99 in the Congregation records. See here: https://app.arkivdigital.se/volume/v171564?image=1090 .

Karl Erik was baptized 19 May (1900) by A. G. Viotti.

The sponsors were Captain Johan Väslund (?) and his wife Emma Ericksson from Sund, Skönvik.
