Translation: 20 Jan 1787 Kaspar Jenta's burial, from Wetzikon death records page 30

Kaspar's burial record is found on a single line on the document at the bottom of this page. It is marked with a red square:

https://www.gatheringgardiners.com/2019/12/kaspar-sidler-1741-1790.html

Note: One published source says school teacher Kaspar's death was 1790 and this one says 1787. I believe the cause of death is in the right hand column.

The age at death is given as 45y 8m 21d - there are different ways ages were calculated - one leads to 30.04.1741 as date of birth: this is the date you give on your web page - is that based on this calculation, or have you actually found the corresponding baptismal entry?

If you actually have such an entry, the death entry would fit - and I would trust this date of death, rather 1790 (what is the source for this?).

For the cause of death: the second part is very faint - but I read Lungensucht - which could be shortened for Lungenschwindsucht = tuberculosis.

WSeelentag The April 30, 1741 date comes from Billeter. Billeter didn't have a death date as far as I know. The source for 1790 is from Geschichte der gemeinde Wetzikon. The document can be found in his FS memories: KCZG-DX4 and I just posted it on the same page as referenced above.

Thanks for such great work. I love finding out the details of how people died and what their occupations were. Kent

On http://www.stapferenquete.ch/db/transkriptions/view/580 you'll find the school of Ettenhausen described as of 1799: mentions Johannes Jünta (sic!) as born 1772 and teacher there for 12 years - i.e. he started around 1787 - aged 15 (!?).
