Polish-Slavic Place name - Agata Jareka marriage in Krynica
Question about Slavic and Polish regions:
I have recently revisited an older pedigree chart from a relative. When
translating this I believe it says:
Wincenty Bieda born January 18, 1912
Entered into matrimony with Agata Jarecka in Krynica
Died in Oswiecim
I have found several of the camp and death
records for Wincenty.
My question is, if they both married in Krynica,
is it highly likely that Agata Jarecka is FROM Krynica? Wincenty and his
parents and his siblings were all born in Lubenia, Poland. I am
providing a link to the original pedigree I received years ago (I can no
longer locate the author, unfortunately). Thank you. I appreciate it.

I know that a marriage will typically occur in the bride's location, and if you know the groom wasn't from the location of the marriage then you are probably on the right track in thinking that's where the bride is from, or at least where she was living at the time.

Mattie, I noticed that your tree is in MyHeritage and Familysearch Tree, and that you locate Krynica in Podlaskie, about 300 miles, or 431 km from southern part of Poland, where Lubenia and another Krynica is located. It is unlikely that both brothers would travel this distance to get married there. There are several Krynica communities in Poland. If you look on pilot.pl you will see that there is Krynica in Malopolskie, about 13,000 residents, nearer Lubenia. I could make a telephone call to Civil Records Office in Krynica, if you are more specific about dates and spouses of those two brothers, as sometimes they have this information indexed on computers., and they are kind enough to check it. But their marriage is too late, and by privacy restrictions may be difficult to obtain this information.
Right now, your information disappeared again from Polish Community site. You may also look at geneszukacz.genealodzy.pl and search for Jarecki surname, there is not even one in Podlaskie area, including your Krynica there, and there are many in Malopolskie. Please let us know what you think about it.

Dear Katerina and Maria,
Thank you for reviewing this question. I had checked Geneteka for Krynica within Malopolskie. I have found a Jareka that could be Agata's birth record, but without much else to identify her family, not even her actual birth date, I cannot be certain. I must have chosen the Podlaskie place name because it seemed so unlikely that the 2 getting married would have been in another region. You must be right about the Malopolskie Krynica. I wish I could provide more details about Agata and her spouse Vincentius. I do have his birth date and location, his parents, and his siblings birth dates and the place name is Lubenia for his family. That is also where they lived after they were married (according to his death records). I have looked in MyHeritage, Ancestry, Geneteka, and conducted general searches with Agata's name. With so little to link her to her parents, and as you pointed out her marriage date being sooner than the 110 years limit, I cannot know for certain. What I can do now, however, is put her birth and marriage place names as Krynica, Malopolskie, check all of the additional resources you provided here and continue to seek more about her.
I sincerely appreciate all that you have provided in resources and information. It clarifies the location of her birth and marriage places (with confidence), and it a huge help.
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Mattie
