Looking for Emigration for 5G Grandfather Henry Kalm
Hello,
I am looking for emigration details for my 5G Grandfather, Henry Kalm, who was born Detlof Jergen, Hernwick Kalm on 19 Mar. 1828 in Lubeck, Lubeck, Germany. He can be found on the 1851 German Census at the age of 22 with his family. The next document I found was him applying for U.S. citizenship in Dec. 1852 from Adams County, Illinois. I am trying to find when and from where he emigrated from, what route he took, what ship he traveled on, and if he traveled alone or with family members. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated as I have been looking for about a year and a half now with no luck.
Thanks you,
Pat Blau

Hello @Pat Blau Early ship manifests don't contain much detail, unfortunately. And, not every manifest has survived to be microfilmed and digitized.
I noticed that you have a note regarding his military pension on his profile 9NKJ-TRN. Have you requested the full pension packet? Often Civil War pension packets include considerable detail, including names of parents, dates of birth of children, marriage date, and more.
Best of luck with the search.
