Wrong name
I’ve found records that have names indexed incorrectly, I can see how this could happen with the horrible handwriting! But in this case I’m certain it’s the wrong name (which is why it took me ages to find it I contacted FS about making corrections to these kinds of things and they responded with instructions. However, the options they gave me don’t exist for me. Can someone here please correct the following record? Or explain to me how it can be done? Or grant me access? 🤣. This record can be found by searching for Thomas Bessmon, however the name of the family is Wiseman... this record should be for Thomas Wiseman (and others of course ) thank you!

@X24mom X24mom I am going to move this to the FamilySearch Family Tree group to see if they can help you there as your need is more with your tree, than with indexing records to prepare for publishing. In the meantime, did you click on the sources attached to his page, and go to the particular source to view the record? There you can change his name. You should be able to have access there. Here is a picture of what I have found on the first source of his page.

Yes I did try to do that but I don’t have that option to change the name. So who would I contact for situations like this?

I would call FamilySearch and ask them. 866-406-1830. I know that these features are rolling out and not everyone has the ability to do this yet. Yes, you can have people change it for you, but I personally hesitate because if I change the name, then if anyone disputes it, they will come to me as I am the contact. I won't know a thing about the person and hence won't be able to carry on a good conversation with them.
For right now though, you can add information in the source notes what the true name is. You can also add information in the Collaboration tab.

Yay! I am so glad that you figured it out!
