Sweden - Understanding the parents of Anton
Anton was born out of wedlock on 20 Feb 1852 and died 12 May 1852. I believe on his birth his father is only identified as someone who worked for Jens Pedersen in Fredrikshald. Is that correct? His mother is first listed as Anna Maria Svensdotter which is crossed out and Carolina Svensdotter is written and that is crossed out and Anna Maria Svensdotter is written again. Anna Maria and Carolina are sisters. The mother listed as being 19 years old, which is how old Carolina is. Anna was born in 1831 and Carolina was born in 1833. The Clerical Survey which shows Anton does not show Anna Maria but Carolina. Which leads me to believe she is his mother and not Anna Maria. Am I correct that Carolina is his mother and not Anna Maria?

death record
Clerical Survey - Askeviken. Carolina is shown several times. She is listed with her mother Ingrid Maria Andersdatter and her stepfather, Hans Olson. Also listed is her brother, Lars Olaus Svensson and the child in question, Anton.
I have a gap in the records for Anna Maria Svensdotter but she is listed here with her husband, Gustaf Olausson in Dalarne.

I would agree that Carolina is the most probable mother of Anton. Still one wonders why there was such a confusion in the birth record and why it was not finally corrected to "Carolina".
The remark for the father is: angafs vara arbetsk[arln] Jens Pedersen i Fredrikshald, meaning that the worker Jens Pedersen is the alleged father.

Thank you for clarifying the information on Jens. I must not have had everything correct when I tried to use google translate.
I got thinking about the clerical record for Anna Maria and realized I now knew where to find her. It says she moved in from page 91 and her family is found on page 92 so I went on page back and found her. These 3 parishes are so closely linked in the records. I wonder if this is why there is confusion about who was Anton's mother. Anna Maria is listed on the middle of the right side of the page.
