Finding people with first name and rank
There's a person that I'm trying to find in which I know only his first name and rank.
A relative of mine had the rank of Staff Sargent either in the Second World War or Korea where he died, putting his birth year in the mid to late 20s.
I had a picture of him once, and noticed that the only thing seen of his uniform were the chevrons on one sleeve.
Most KIA lists go by last name, but is there anyway to find people by first?
It would be very helpful if there was.

There are databases for military headstones - for burials overseas or for remains returned to the US for burial. Both allow searching just with the given name and rank.

You can also search Fold3 by rank, conflict, and first name by using the filters provided. From the main landing page, scroll down and select the conflict then use the filters to restrict the results to a specific rank and name.
