wife isChristina, legitimate child* of the said Christ. Momsen of Enge,: f, Christian, g, Hans.* Note - I've not seen the symbol e with a caret above it before, but in this context, I believe it would mean legitimate child/son/daughter as the case may be.

To clarify.
"Hans Jessen from Brecklum; age 66 years 22 weeks, leaves behind with his already deceased wife
Catharina legitimate child* of the deceased Jacob Hansen from Dörpum,"
Is Hans the legitimate child of the deceased Jacob Hansen? or is Catharina the legitimate child?

I'm reading this as Catherine is the legitimate child of Jacob Hansen because of the order in the sentence structure, just like Abel and Christina are daughters of Christian Momsen.
