I am wondering why some of the names are in a backward order
I am working in Friesland and Groningen
Before Sirnames the Dutch names where
Like Otto Meints
So Otto was the son of Meint and if Meint was the son of Otto than it would be Meint Otto’s
For some reason I am finding the names rearranged instead of Otto Meints I get Meint Otto’s why if the son is Otto
Is it because of the time period or the Province
Can anyone explain why?
Ernest Blett(
I can’t write in Netherlands
