Please translate/confirm my understanding of this birth/baptism record. I am a little confused as to the name of the child. I think this is what it says——

Johann Conrad (child), Gabrial Holtzheimer and Anna Margaretha (parents) son born 20 May—next part ???time of birth—-baptized 25 of same month-May- Is the next part the witness Johann Conrad Holtzheimer?? possibly a grandfather

Hello Trish,

Here is my translation which you can compare with yours:

Johann Conrad, son of Gabriel Holtzeimer and Anna Margaretha, was born on the 20th of May in the morning between 6 and 7 o'clock and was baptized on the 25th of the same month, the baptismal sponsor* was Johann Conrad Holtzheimer.

My comments:

*Gevatter = (male) baptismal sponsor (if Protestant), godfather (if Catholic).

I read the surname as "Holtzeimer" as opposed to "Holtzheimer".
