Second marriage raises "...older than usual" message
Ellen Crankshaw (1839-1928) LBYW-R9B was married in 1864. After her husband died, she remarried in 1896. The second marriage has triggered a Data Is Conflict Free message "This person's birth and marriage dates indicate marriage at age 56, which is older than usual.". I suggest that this test should be applied only to an individual's first marriage.

I agree.
I see similar errors (that aren't) reported in many of the profiles I work with. One profile I recently edited was of a woman who married quite late (nearly 50) the first time, and she remarried in her 60s after the death of her first husband. Poor Mary Ann MZ6J-QBM has two of those "older than usual" errors.
So far, I'm not generally dismissing those errors because it is a fact that she married late, but the profile is correct, with marriage records attached.
In an era when women needed to be married to survive, we often see quite late marriages. I think the algorithm needs a bit of a tweak.
In fact, Mary Ann married the widower of her niece - which might raise more eyebrows than marrying at 49.
Thanks.

Update: ages and rules have been adjusted.

@Rhonda Budvarson The example I used above, MZ6J-QBM, still has 2 "older than usual" conflicts.

Thank you for the feedback. The PQS is now only flagging an Older Than Ususal on a first marriage.

Thanks, Rhonda.
