Transcription Request - 1685 Baptism Record - Böel
I believe Entry #17 is the baptism record for my 6th GGF Friedrich Asmussen, but I am having a lot of difficulty reading the script. Friedrich's age listed in his burial record implies he was born late in 1685. This area of Schleswig-Holstein was still practicing patronymic naming of children, so his father's first name would have been "Asmus". This baptism record seems to fit the evidence. Please help.

Hello @Robt_Nielsen,
This is a tough one. I might be able to assist with a few items:
17. Hinrik?, Asmus Hinriksen [ordinal number?] Sohn.
gebohren den 22 9ber [November] in der nacht und den 25 9ber [November] gd.?
Vadderen Hinrik? Petersen, Peter Schaster?/Schuster?, Maria Voss.
My comments: The first letter of the child's forename is likely an "H" — compare with "Hanß" in the last line of the record immediately above. The name is either "Hinrik" or "Henrik". I don't see the letter "d" in the child's name so I don't think it's "Fridrik".
I think the word before the word "Sohn" is an ordinal number — indicating the order of this son in this family. In the record immediately above it appears that the child named Claus is the "dreitten" = third son. I can't make out the word in your record
I am puzzled by what looks like an abbreviation at the end of the first line "gd." and may be an abbreviation for "getauft" = baptized.
9ber = November
Hopefully other community members will comment as well.
