Children of Divorced Spouses should be able to be included without one of the divorced parents.

I think there are two different issues here.
One, is how profiles get add to a group tree. I do see that you cannot add the spouse of a child without adding that child. Presumably because doing so would leave the spouse as an unconnected person in the tree. I'm not sure what other constraints there are on adding profiles. I just have ways to test that out.
The other, however, has a simple answer. If a person cannot be trusted to act responsibly in the group, then never invite that user into the group! You don't have to invite every user of Family Tree who has a profile in the group to be part of the group.

@Suzann Comstock, as @Gordon Collett said, you do not have to have every person in the tree as a member of the Family Group. (But be careful what information you add to your tree about that person.)
If you work from one charts or from the Person page, you can add single individuals from your private Person List without copying whole branches of your living tree. It is only the initial setup or going in through the COPY FROM MY TREE (underneath the Starting person on the Group Details page) that includes the connected individuals.

One of the latest updates has been to make this change. Please review the new process. If you are still having difficulties, please start a new post in this group.
