Requesting Assistance with a Date
Hello,
I would appreciate it if someone could confirm a date for this marriage:
It looks as though the dates listed are the 22nd (above date) and the seventh (below date). They don't seem to be 12 days apart. I am guessing that the date of the marriage in the Gregorian calendar is 7 October 1841.
The record can also be found in the Family Search catalog:
Record # 008203483, Image 366 of 576, Slide 15.
Thank you and have a good day.
Sincerely,
Stephen

Stephen,
Thank you for providing the reference to the microfilm and the record.
It looks like there is some problem with recorder calculating the dates.
Marriage Record No. 14, the date is the 12th October/the 24th October. which means correct as 12th October in Julian Calendar and 12 days later, 24th October in Gregorian Calendar.
Your Marriage Record No. 15, the recorder wrote according to Julian Calendar the 26th October and the 7th October for the Gregorian Calendar.
In the Marriage Record No. 16, the dates are the 1st November for Julian Calendar and 13th November for Gregorian Calendar.
In your Marriage Record No. 15, the recorder meant to enter the 26th October according to Julian Calendar and the 7th November according to Gregorian Calendar.
I do not know how you can correct it, but the marriage date should be the 7th November 1841 (according to Gregorian Calendar), not October.

Thank you for your help. I thought that the first two letters were D-R. I didn't consider that they were S-Z. This is why I thought that it was 22 and not 26. It looks like the recorder was correct in his/her mathematics. Still, the month was a problem for me.
I cannot change the record, but I can change the information in my tree. I hope that the next person to look at the record has someone like you to assist. Have a good day.
