Death of Jadwiga Witkoska on the 8th February 1838 (acc. to Julian or Russian Calendar), we use in Europe Gregorian Calendar which is 12 days later i.e. the 20th February 1838, death reported/buried on the 10th February/the 22nd February 1838.

Thank you.
Does this mean that I should add twelve days to each of these records that I am attempting to translate? I have been trying to translate records as early as 1797.

Only when you have two dates listed for the event, and you can see 12 day difference between them (till 1900 year, then 13 days) would you select the later date. You do not need to add to date 12 days otherwise, if you have only one date given.
It was a requirement of Russian authorities to use the Julian or Russian Calendar date, negotiated to include also Gregorian (Western European including Polish) Calendar date.
