Thank you for your response. I have checked the Utah, Naturalization and Citizenship records. That record doesn't list his father's name. I was hoping I could find a birth certificate that would list his father's name. Hermann was raised by his grandparents, Ferdinand and Ernestine Shubert Bruschke. His mother is their daughter Ernestine Bruschke. Apparently Herman's father was killed in a hunting accident. We're not sure Ernestine was married to him before he was killed. I was hoping to find a record of his birth which could possibly list his father's name. His death certificate lists Ernestine as his mother and father unknown. We have no records of Ernestine either, only that she was born around 1855 or 1856. We think she remarried but had her parents raise Hermann. Thank you for your help.

According to Meyers Gazetteer, Kosemitz , Kreis Nimptsch, belonged to the Kunsdorf civil registration district . See https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/11047021
The Kunsdorf civil registration records are missing, so may have been destroyed or lost in the aftermath of WWII. See http://www.christoph-www.de/kbsilesia2.html
So the chances of finding a birth certificate are not good. The Catholic parish for Kosemitz was Nimptsch, and the Lutheran parish Ober Dirsdorf. The evangelical church records are also missing.
Apparently you may need to look for other record types in the Polish regional archive. Chances are you will need to look for other record types like a military muster list, residency records etc. in the regional Polish archives. Not an easy task! You could also join the Schlesien/ Silesia mailing list on www.Compgen.de and ask for help there. Perhaps someone there visits the archive occasionally and would be willing to search some records for you.
