In Västra Klagstorp, Malmohus, Sweden is a death record on 18 July 1828, buried 25 July. I need the last name of Per, age 54 years 6 months. Also, what is the word before his name? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6LPR-PL?i=362&cc=1974200&cat=398547

His name is also on his daughter, Hanna's birth record on 14 July 1793 in the same parish: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6LP5-FT?i=87

I'd really appreciate some help deciphering Per's last name! On the tree his PID is K6H7-NK7

    @Joellen McAlister

    First, let me apologize that this has been unanswered for so long!

    Per's surname in the death record is "Pelquist". In Hanna's birth record it has an extra "h" in it-"Pehlquist".

    The word before his name in the birth is "hyttaren". I can't be 100% sure of the translation of the occupation but according to the occupation wordlist "hyttarbetare = smelter, works at a foundry" (see here: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Sweden_Business_and_Occupations .

    Another possibility for the occupation is that since "hytta" is a "hut or cottage", he may be a "cottager=torpare"

    I can't be certain what the occupation is in the death record but it must be a variation of "hyttare". It does say he is "afsk[ed] ___________" = "retired/discharged___________".
