Help with a birth record please
Hello
Could you please help with this birth record-Right side 4th down from top
I see the daughter is in the wrong column but I got her name was Barbara-what does it say after her name?
Now the father is Johann Georg Schumacher but the mother is Catharina-I don't see a last name? What are the words under Catharina's name? Is there something about Auf dem Sandberg? I looked that up it is near Leipzig, Sachsen. Is that considered Saxony?
Also, there is a Sandberg to the west of Aalen and to the north of Essingen-where this record is from.
Thank you

The image on the "Right side 4th down from top" is for a child named Sophia.
Have you attached the correct image to your question?

You are correct that was Barbara's sister, Catharina. Thank you

Yes, the parents and the child were placed in the wrong columns. Do you see the number "1" placed over the child's name and the number "2" placed over the parents' names? The scribe is telling the reader to reverse the information in each entry and put the child's name in the column before the parents' names.
There is no maiden name for the mother.
Written under the child's name is: "des Kindes Nahm" = the child's name. Here the scribe is again making it clear to the reader that the child's name was written in the wrong column.
What is written under the mother's name is referring back to the father: "Bau(e)r auf dem Sandberg Aaln. Herrschl." = farmer on the Sandberg, noble territory of Aalen.
Translation of the entire record with the child and the parents in the correct order:
Day and month: 29 April [1729]
Child: Barbara, the child's name
Parents: Johann Georg Schumacher, wife Catharina, farmer on the Sandberg in the noble territory of Aalen.
Baptismal sponsors: Philipp Iltzhöfer, innkeeper at the sign of the crown here, with wife Barbara.
Here is the link for Sandberg from Meyers Gazetteer:

If you click on the "Ecclesiastical" link in the gray bar at the top, you will see that Sandberg is approximately one mile from Essingen, where a Protestant parish church is located, and it is about three miles from Aalen.
This is the Sandberg mentioned in the record.
