Search for residents of Hadamar Nassua
Hi
I am Dutch and I doing research on the ancestors of my husband as well. His surname is NIEUWETS and it is rare in the Netherlands.
In familysearch we ended up at this man: Jurrie Niewis G3VM-XH6. In his marriage announcement and certification (12 and 27 July 1788) it is described as follows: "Georg Neuwis J:M: gebooren uijt Hausen in 't vorstendoms Nassau Hadamar" and "Jurrien Neuwis J:M: geboortig van Hausen in 't vorstendom Nassau Hadmer".
There is estimation based on his age when he passed away, that he was born around 1759.
I have seen that there is a location in Germany where he probably originates from: Hadamar, Hessen. https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10696091.
There is a lot of information on wiki on the Haus of Hadamar Naussau:
But I have no clue on how to link this information. We do not know when he travelled to the Netherlands.
So my questions is, how can I find out more about his birth, his family and his name?
Does anyone know where I can start? We can travel to Hadamar if that helps, it is not that far. But I would like to have more guidance before we do travel.
