Eliminating unwanted family line

First make sure you are in the family group. Go to the family group copy of yourself. Detach yourself from your parents. You could then check and see if it is possible to delete your parent's profiles from the group if they are living. I haven't checked, but it should be possible if only one person has edited the profiles.
The family groups only contain living people profiles so if either of your parents are deceased, they aren't actually in the group and, of course, should not be deleted.

You don't have to add any people to the Family Group Tree that you don't want in there. So, if you are administering for your husband's family, just don't copy your parents and siblings into that tree. If you already have, you should be able to delete any individual that you don't want in the tree, the same as you would with an individual record in the regular Family Tree.
And as Gordon Collett said, all the deceased individuals are the same, so if you delete the relationship between living people copied into the Family Group Tree and their deceased ancestors, then no one will see that connection in that Family Group Tree.
