Requesting Translation Assistance (surname only)
Looking for help with the surname of Josef, married in Mečichov on 18 October 1767 (bottom right). Some of the letters in these church books have been giving me more trouble than usual. The clearest version of the name in the record is for his father Jan.

Your links are broken. The rough guess is P(e)rníček. I would recommend looking into the birth index for the letter P to see surnames common in that location.

Thank you Jan. These records are further back than the earliest index for this parish, but I will try looking in a later index to see if that surname is listed.

Thanks for the update. Based on the second record I rather think the surname is Pieniczka (Pěnička).
