What would be a good description of this occupation in English?
Michael Euler (27 Nov 1730 - 22 Sep 1799) was a tenant on a Hof associated with Schloss Eisenbach of the Riedesel family in Hesse (near Lauterbach). I have multiple documents for him, and I am struggling to interpret his occupation--how to state it in English so it makes sense. Here are the variations I've found: Conductor zu Rudlos in Riedeselischen; Commotoris am herrschaftlichen Hof zu Rudlos; Herrschaftlicher Pfachter zu Rudlos. Perhaps Estate Manager or something similar? Thanks for your advice.

Could that be "herrschaftlicher Pächter"? I would probably call him a farm foreman or farming estate manager.

Yes, Pächter is sometimes the spelling; sometimes Pfachter (if I'm deciphering it correctly). That sounds like a good description, thank you!

P and Pf are both found in this word. THe former is a Low German form and the latter High German (these terms, low and high, are regional designations and have nothing to do with social class, as some people erroneously believe.
Umlaut also seems to come and go in this word.
