Can we change the "Starting Person" for all?
Is there a way to set the "starting person" on our shared family tree to be our shared deceased ancestor? So that when family members join the group they can immediately see how they are connected to the whole group?

No, there is no way to set the starting person to be the same for every member of the tree in one fell swoop. Each person can change the starting person for themselves, but only to someone that isn't already assigned. Essentially, the 'Starting Person' is meant to be you, showing you where you fit in the tree, with your spouse, siblings, children, parents etc. surrounding you.
