Does anyone know how to request a Mobile FamilySearch Center?
Does anyone know how to request a Mobile FamilySearch Center?
A mobile FamilySearch center comes with 6 Chromebooks. The question is how do you request it and who pays for it?
Is this something that FamilySearch provides to Stakes? Or is this something that comes from a stake budget?

This has been discussed multiple times in the monthly Tech Talk meetings on the 1st Wednesday of each month. I could be wrong, because the answer didn't relate to our stake, but if I remember correctly, these are only available to areas where the Church member population is very spread out and buildings are very widely separated. It is not, if memory serves me correctly, something that the majority of stakes in the United States would qualify for.
If you're a FamilySearch Center Leader/Director, or a stake technology specialist supporting a FamilySearch Center, I'd recommend attending the monthly Tech Talk meetings as listed/linked at:

Elder Richins hosts that meeting, and can immediately answer the question. The next meeting will be in 1½ weeks on Wednesday, 6 March 2024. As an alternative, try calling FamilySearch support and select option #5 for FSC support.

Your stake (stake president or counselor over temple and family history) should reach out to the Area Temple and Family History Consultants) who can look into this. There would need to be supporting information, but the Area TFH Consultants can pursue it with FamilySearch, who will determine if it is appropriate and handle it from there.

Additional information: From Section 5 "Administration" of the article you linked above, is the following. The Area Temple and Family History Consultants are specifically assigned to multiple stakes, under the leadership of an Area Seventy, and assist with this.
Request to Create, Relocate, or Close a FamilySearch Center
To request a new FamilySearch center, to relocate an existing center, or to close a center, submit a completed request form to your area's FamilySearch Support. The form needs to be signed by the stake president, local facilities manager, and area temple and family history consultant.
Authorized centers are given a Church unit number separate from the stake unit number and a Certificate of License. The Family History Department specifies the type and quantity of furnishings and equipment for authorized centers.

Is there also a form for requesting a FamilySearch Center to become a Regional FamilySearch Center?

Your Area Temple and Family History Consultants can assist with this (and should be involved). FamilySearch Support could also help. There are criteria and such; the Area consultants and/or FamilySearch Support will have this information on how to request. A request like this would require approvals at the area and HQ level, I believe. There is a movement toward this in some areas (like Utah) where it makes sense to have regional centers.

How do we learn who our regional FHC reps are? We support 9 stakes now.

Your stake president will know.

Here is the form that the stake president needs to fill out to request a family search center or mobile family search center.
