Translation Request: 1850 Marriage record of Jacob Oetter and Anna Ittner
I would appreciate some help with the translation of the marriage record for Jacob Oetter, son of Gottfried Oetter of Ziegelheim, and Anna Ittner, daughter of Michael Ittner of Frohnsdorf. This record comes from the Kirchenbuchduplikat 1809-1875 marriage records for Frohnsdorf, Altenburger Land, Thuringia. FamilySearch film #1194406, DGS 102784917, image 674, the first one on the page.
thank you,
Laurie

Hello @Laurie Skinner Francis,
Translation:
Number: 1.
Details of the bridegroom: Jacob Etter, single, journeyman carpenter, first son of Gottfried Etter, resident, cottager, and journeyman carpenter in Ziegelheim, "einziger Ehe" = only marriage.
Details of the bride: Anna Ittner, single, second daughter of Michael Ittner, resident, cottager, and cattle merchant in Frohnsdorf, "einziger Ehe" = only marriage.
Days of the marriage proclamations: Epiphany [6 Jan 1850], first Sunday after Epiphany [13 Jan 1850], and second Sunday after Epiphany [20 Jan 1850], here and in Ziegelheim.
Day of the marriage: 22 Jan 1850, [married] quietly in Frohnsdorf.
My comments: I not sure what the phrase "einziger Ehe" at the end of the groom and bride's information means, but it translates as: only marriage.
"Married quietly" means they married without pomp, circumstance, and/or celebration.

The term "einziger Ehe" refers to the parents of the groom resp. bride. It means the parents were married only once and Jacob is the first son from the only marriage of his parents, and Anna is the second daughter from the only marriage of her parents.
