Will someone help with this Czech record?
This is the birth record for Frantisek Tomann. Will someone help translate the information of the mother and father? Thank you!

Jordan, are you ready to give it a try and write down what you have figured out? You will have so many records to do in the future, so why not study this out? Then we will help with the things you can't figure out. With the records we have translated for you, it should give you a pretty good idea about the format. I don't speak Czech or German but have taught myself. Have you taken the handwriting classes available on FamilySearch for starters. We have lessons on the Help section (Learning Center) of FamilySearch that helps with the handwriting. Here are two webinars that are excellent: https://www.familysearch.org/ask/learningViewer/38 and https://www.familysearch.org/ask/learningViewer/375
Also make use of our FamilySearch Wiki: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Germany_Genealogy
Notice on the right-hand side a link to German Word List.
A great help is Czech Genealogy for Beginners blog: http://czechgenealogy.nase-koreny.cz.
We will be happy to help you but I would like to teach you how to do this. It can be fun.

I would like to say I've come a long way, but I still have a long ways to go. I think the hardest part for me right now is the handwriting. I will definitely look into the handwriting classes you mentioned. I am okay(ish) at finding records and deciphering dates, most printed text and neat handwriting. Thanks for the tip and for the help 😃

The classes won't take hours and will be essential in your research. Take them and give it a try and I will jump in with what you can't understand. It takes practice and there's still a lot that I am learning every day as I try to do this. You will get better at it but you must try to translate to become better.

Are you having any luck translating this? Did you find the classes interesting and helpful?

I just went through Lesson 1 of the Kurrent course. It was fantastic! I am excited to go through the rest. Thank you for the tip!

Great! It will make you feel good when you begin to understand what the record is saying. It gets easier the more you practice.

I agree. I just translated a record from 1878 on my own. The older the record is, the harder it is to read the writing and decipher the words. I was very pleased that I could do that! I want to take the online handwriting classes. What a wonderful resource we have at our fingertips. Thank you, Family Search!! And Betseylee

I've still been going through some of the online classes and seminars. This is what I have so far. It's a very slow process right now

I am excited to see that you are taking advantage of the online classes and seminars! I know that @Brenda Janvier Williams and others have been working hard to announce these. I am amazed at the free education that is available right now and I hope many people are taking advantage of it.
