Did the Hutterites keep birth records
My late grandmother was born in the Hutterite Colony in Jamesville Yankton South Dakota on 21st December 1891 but I have not been able to find a copy of her birth certificate or the adoption record of her son who was born in Laurens Iowa on 18th April 1914.
I would be most grateful for any help in the search for information.

@PeterLee5 It doesn't appear there are any Hutterite online records, per this statement from the FS Wiki:
"While Hutterite preachers have been diligent in recording the family histories and vital events of their colonies in church books, to our certain knowledge none have ever been microfilmed nor made generally available. Writing to the local colony could locate records."
The full article might be helpful in contacting the local Hutterite Brethren should you choose to do so.
Have you tried this civil records collection on Family Search for your grandmother's birth information?
We need a little more information to help you with the adoption of her son born in Iowa. Did the adoption take place in Iowa? Was he adopted at birth?

I believe that my late fathers adoption by Leonard Anderson happened soon after his birth in 1914 and his adoption was either in South Dakota where Sarah and Lenard got married or in Minnesota where Lenards other children were born.

I have been unable to find any recordof my late grandmother’s birth (Dec 21st 1891 - Jamesville, Hutterite Colony, Yankton, South Dakota) so would be most grateful for any help in finding both her birth record and adoption record of her son Merle Alvin Anderson.
