My deceased father-in-law's US Petition for Naturalization document indicates his place of birth as Serunitz, Lithuania on 18 October 1907 however, I am unable to locate any such place on a map of Lithuania.

Any idea where in Lithuania this town may have been?

    @AnnetteBurstein

    The ship manifest lists the city of birth as Shirwint. The local spelling of this would most likely be Schirwindt, an extinct town on the German-Prussian border. There is considerable information about this town at https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/the-extinct-town-of-schirwindt-kudirkos-naumiestis-lithuania

    Hope this sheds some light on your search. Happy hunting!
