Scottish Prisoners of 1745

I am trying to determine the disposition of John Allen. He departed Liverpool on 5 May 1747 on the ship "Gildart" and arrived in Maryland on 5 August 1747. He may have been auctioned off as an indentured servant. John Allen may be my ancestor.

Thanks in advance for any help in finding John.

    A John Allen is mentioned in "Prisoners of the '45'", three volumes listing prisoners. It is available from the Scottish Archives
