This is a short presentation. Landed Estate Papers are an important but under-used source for researching ancestors in Ireland. In this session we will look at the range of sources available such as rentals, leases and maps and how to access them.

    In PRONI the Earl of Antrim's estate records exceed 50,000 individual records includiing rent books back to the late 1700's early to mid 1800s i.e. pre civil registration. The only pproblem is theyre not digitised so you have to attend in person. Also the search engine for PRONI takes a bit of getting used to but the results are fantastic.
