Need help reading Norwegian criminal records

I found two record, and was able to read enough to know this is my relative: Karl Sem Sørensen - 5709 in the photo page (bottom L).

Do either of them tell WHY he was incarcerated, and when it started/ended? (any other interesting tidbits would also be welcome!)

@Liv Anderson2 There's a lot here, I'd love to see how you interpret it.

Hi, here is a rough translation. It would be great for @Liv Anderson2 to take a look at it too. I tried looking up the chapter and section of the law he broke and it seems that his crime was fornication with a young girl. It also seems that his original sentence of one year was lessened.

    Karl Sem Sørensen

Born legitimately in Hetland on the 8th of December 1867 to the parents,

tenant Enok Sørensen Ropstad and his wife Serine As-

Bjørnsdatter. [Karl is] Single, childless, and a foreman at a box factory.

Confirmed in Stavanger 1883, home residence Bergen.

By Bergens “meddoms” court sentenced on the 1st October

1898 for crime towards Penal law chapter

18 section 19, first offense, given 1 year labor punishment. According to

Penal procedural code 475 ___ (I believe this says three days were taken off)

On the 9th of October 1898 he came into Bods prison

to fulfill 9 months and 28 days

    Released 6 August 1899

    2nd page

_____ (Karl) is 39 years old and quite short. He moved with

his parents to Stavanger, where he remained until 19 years

of age. Then, he traveled to Hamburg, where he worked for 9 years

at a carpentry factory. He came from there Fall 1895

to Bergen, where he later resided and became

foreman in a box factory. He has good health. Has

not been a soldier. He has been moderate in drinking.

A brother has been sentenced to prison.

No one in the family is insane.

Is there a way to find out what crime he did?

I wonder if it might be adultery. He had a child born in May 1899, just a few months before he got out - the mother was then married to someone else. (L5KG-ZDL)

I found TWO "mug shots" of his brother Anders Johan Sørensen (Rapstad) f/ 24 Sept 1871- both AFTER Karl was released. First was in a record for 1901-1902 (https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/58527/72), 2nd was 1913-1915 (https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/58534/37).
