Translation Request - Census Family Relationship

For the last person listed on this 1916 census page, Aage Villiam Mainer Hansen, I am trying to understand the word listed in the family relationship column. From further research I have done I have learned that he is not the natural born child of the parents listed. His natural mother died shortly after he was born. I am trying to discover his legal relationship with this family that is raising him. He is listed with this family in multiple census records. In some of these records his relationship is listed as child. In the 1916 census record the relationship is listed as:

The word is "Pleiesön" (=Plejesøn), foster son.
