William Kelley and Elizabeth Kelley(Reid)
Hello
my 2x great grandparents moved from I believe Tyrone or Armagh Ireland in 1833 to Ontario Canada. Both born there in 1806 and had a son Robert born in Ireland all other kids born in Canada. I have not been able to find any data from Ireland. Anyone have suggestions?
Thanks,
Todd Kelly

Hi @todd6274
Of primary importance when searching for Irish records before 1864 (the start of civil registration for births and deaths) is religion. We would be looking for Church records from 1806 through 1833. Civil registration of non-Catholic marriages began in 1845 - so we're still looking for Church records in all cases of your search. Do you know their religion?
The census in Canada often specifies an exact location in Ireland as well as religion.
My family was from County Tyrone, and I moderate Canadian and Armagh research groups on other platforms.
And, since we have both a British Isles group and an Ireland group, Ireland questions may be better suited to the Ireland group.

I concur with @Áine Ní Donnghaile's comment that you are more likely to get more useful comments by posting this to the Ireland group https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/104-ireland-research

I will post on Ireland group. I found a document from a relative regarding William and Elizabeth:
William and Elizabeth Kelly
were Protestant Irish settlers, probably from Tyrone or Armagh counties in Northern Ireland. They settled in Ontario,Sheffield twnshp. county of Lennox and Addington, aproximately 1830-1835. Their children are listed in the Canada Census years 1851, 1861 and 1871. This is what the 1851 census says. The birthdates for the children change with each census.

My Grandfather was in The Royal Black Institution which I thought could help but I tried getting data from Manitoba, Ontario and BC to no avail. I found out recently my GGrandfather became an Orangeman late in his life. I tried researching the religion E.P.C.E. but couldn't find much. I was hoping that Williams father would have been at the age of the beginning of the the Orange Order late 1700's and I could access docs through that channel.
thanks,
Todd
