Prove parentage of Mary "Polly" Goree

I am trying to prove Mary L "Polly" Goree's parents were John Gorey/ Goree and Lucy Lyles/Lilies. Polly married Simon Ashford at some point in South Carolina. They are both from Newberry, S.C. They were some of the first settlers. There are no marriage records, birth records, or Bible records that I can find. Lucy, her mother died in Perry,Alabama and I cannot find a will. I did not find one for John either and he died in Newberry. Summer says in his book that the oldest brother Joseph died and left his possessions to his siblings and that their parents were John and Lucy. I cannot find that document inProbate or deed records. Unfortunately, he did not source his findings. Lucy's parents were Williamson Lyles and Joice Goree. Fortunately, Williamson did mention Lucy in his will. I don't know where else to look for proof for John and Lucy and Mary "Polly". Can anyone help?
