WW II Army Records
My great grandfather was in the Army during WW II. All we know is that he was in the Army, his service number, and enlistment/discharge dates. How can I find out what company he was assigned to and then research that company?

Many WWII Army personnel records were destroyed in a fire at the National Archives, National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) in St. Louis in 1973.
