NICARAGUA: Help me build my family tree!
My dad is from Nicaragua and based on what he's told me and a couple of hand-drawn family trees his dad's family gave us, I've only been able to go back two generations for my grandfather's family line and not even a full two generations on my grandmother's side.
I have gotten much farther on my maternal grandmother's side but almost nothing on my maternal grandfather's side (both from Mexico).
Have other people found it difficult to get beyond a few generations in Latin American family trees? Are there any tips or tricks to finding more?
I'm a historian by training and think I have some pretty good research chops but this is stumping me. Any help would be appreciated!
