Does anyone know the history of the West family in Virginia?

I traced my family to Obadiah West 1763-1850 king William county Virginia. I need help with knowing if my tree is correct that his father is John West 1730-1787, and so forth on paternal side. I was told that I was native American but want to know for sure if it was Joseph crowshaw wife Rachel Powhatan or someone else, or does not exist.
