Scots-Irish help at FHL
Like many I am stuck on finding my colonial ancestors' records in Northern Ireland so I cannot trace their ancestors back to Scotland. I am planning to be a the FHL in August and am working on my research plans. What resources at the FHL might help? Or would looking elsewhere be more productive? What do you advise?
Thanks,
Sue Luchs

Worth doing as much as you can in advance of going to the FamilySearch Library. The Library has records that cannot be accessed online. You need to focus on identifying those in that category that you wish to view.
Have you looked at the resource links at the top of the page?
Also worth visiting the groups specifically dedicated to Ireland and Scotland.
They too have resource links. Some will overlap but others will be unique.

Graham Buckell, thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Your advice is pretty much what I thought. I think I have exhausted most of the FHL wiki links (and other sites) in getting ready. I have lots of other tasks to do when I come to the library, so you have helped me prioritize.
Thanks for your help!
