Rovio TI - early 19th century - Carloni - sources?
Hello everyone.
I am looking for some help regarding my father´s mother birth surname, "Carloni". The last trail i have found is Giuseppe Carloni Born in Rovio back in 1810, his son, Fedele Carloni (B. 1845) also was born in Rovio. Both emigrated to South America and stablished in Argentina. I am guessing they came through Montevideo, Uruguay. I don´t know what port they arrived in with certainty, but his nationality appears in argentine marriage registries as "Swiss".
Now the problem is that researching in Switzerland the surname "Carloni" does not exist.
Could someone help me find Italian surnames in Ticino?
Any ideas?
Thank you all in advance.

Unfortunately Ticino is not my area of expertise - so I cannot help a lot - sorry.
I can only confirm that according to https://hls-dhs-dss.ch/famn/index.php?lg=e Carloni have been citizens of Rovio since before 1800 - and Rovio church records (baptisms and marriages) can be viewed online on https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C39T-KSQJ-X?mode=g&cat=469007.
The online telephone directory lists about a dozen Carloni in Switzerland, including one in Rovio.

Good evening Mr. WSeelentag.
I very much appreciate the time you have invested in responding my message. I will certainly look it up through the link you facilitate to me.
I have not had the time to look every corner of the web in search for my ancestors but this info looks promising.
Greetings!
