What does it say about the bride's father?
Sometimes I start to think I might be learning That Dratted Handwriting... and then I come up against things like this:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:2:77TJ-CH95?i=53&cc=1804263
It's from Bohemia, but I'm certain that it's in German -- and that's just about the only thing I'm certain of.
I'm interested in what it says about the bride's father in the middle entry on the page, the marriage of Maria Josefa Paulina Merta to Gabriel Josef Hendrich. (I'm of course curious about the rest of the entry, too, but that seems rather a lot to ask.)

Here is the part about the bride and her parents (I have problems with the place names):
Maria Josefa Pauline Merta, living in Schönau __ 146, born in Salzburg N.C. 127 in Upper Austria, legitimate daughter of the late Herr Peter Merta, k.k. [royal and imperial] captain of cavalry and regiment physician in the von Barten? Hussar Regiment No. 8 and Maria Magdalena née Kandel, landowner's daughter born in Zu br__zin Szaboklsiker? Comitat ___?

The last two words after Commitat are "in Ungarn" - in Hungary.

OK, so then this is him, in 1858: https://library.hungaricana.hu/en/view/MilitarAlmanachSchematismus_1858/?query=%22Merta%20P%C3%A9ter%22&pg=712&layout=s
And so is this, eight years earlier: https://library.hungaricana.hu/en/view/MilitarAlmanachSchematismus_1850/?query=%22Merta%20P%C3%A9ter%22&pg=589&layout=s (where exactly is Kufstein?)
But this one getting married in 1858 in Infantry Regiment 4 can't be him, because infantry is very different from hussars, right? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89V4-286V?cat=657316 (Also, while I cannot figure out any of the words between his name and his parents, I'm fairly sure that none of them have anything to do with "doctor", "physician", or "medic".)
(Feast or famine: I can barely find anything about Peter Merta, but now there are two of them in the military in 1858.)
Regarding the mother's birthplace, some of her siblings are known to have been born in Szabolcs county, Hungary, but I can't make that thing before the county fit any of the places in it. Could it be something other than a placename? (She was born Jewish, could it be a reference to that?)

Found the bride's birth record in the hussar-regiment's church register: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G9VF-2XQ?i=548&cat=680754
I still don't see anything about dad's birthplace or age, unfortunately. Of course, it'd likely send me on a wild goose chase anyway, the way it tries to with the mother's birthplace: Debrecen (old German spelling Debreczin) is a (large) city that used to be in Bihar county and is now the county seat of Hajdú-Bihar county, but has never in its many centuries of existence been any part of Szabolcs county.

I think the word before Hussar Regiment in the original link might be "vakant" - vacant, so perhaps the regiment was dissolved? Have you tried to look up the regimental history? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_and_Royal_Hussars
Kufstein is a town in southwest Austria - see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kufstein

The 8th Hussars have church registers until 1916 (https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/680754), so the regiment was definitely not "vacant" in 1874. I read the word before the thing that must be "Hussar" as _aba_ten, but my meager German vocabulary is inadequate to the task of filling in those blanks.

I agree with @sylviaelchinger1 that the letters before "Husaren- regimente" look very much like "v a kan ten" (with strange blanks in between) whatever it means.
Similarly, the birthplace of the bride's mother is written "De br e czin Szaboklscher Commitat". Probably, many of the spelling and geographical errors are based on the ignorance of the priest in Schönau.
