other spouses on tree
how can one move from one spouse to another on the new tree? and how can one see whether there is in fact another spouse?

This may help, on the Landscape view you should see a little blue menu arrow next to the name, that indicates there are additional spouses. Click that and you will see “Spouses for ...]

Correct. The option to view alternate spouses in the portrait pedigree is a feature that has not yet been added. Development is progressing, so the feature should hopefully be available soon. In the interim, as @AlbertoRiella mentioned, switching temporarily to the landscape view will at least allow you to see the information you are looking for.

The ability to view alternate spouses and view/switch alternate parents has now been added to the portrait pedigree view. Some tweaks are still forthcoming, but you should at least have what you need, now.
