Jamestown to the Revolution
In one direct line of descendants in my family, there was a man who arrived at the Jamestown Colony in 1608, and another man who joined the Continental Army to fight in the American Revolution. Does anyone happen to know how rare it is for one line of descendants to have been involved in both of those foundational events?

@copper551 Hi - Welcome to FamilySearch Community and asking your question about early ancestors. I have done more research on the Plymonth colony. It is pretty common in families line that descendants of the very early settlers participated in the revolutionary war. In Virginia, for example George Washington is the descendant of many of the early Virginia settlers. Many of the founding fathers where also descendants of the early settlers. For example, John Adams is a descandant of Mayflower passengers, John Alden and Priscilla Mullins. I really think it would be the exemption if early settlers didn't have descendants in the revolutionary war. Hope this helps.
