How do I go about finding an ancestor who imigrated from Sweden to Norway?
Take a look at:
Adam Johannesson1 April 1860 – Deceased • KZBH-SCJ
https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/KZBH-SCJ
He's a direct ancestor of my wife's line. I just added an immigration source. It shows him leaving Sweden on a specific date and landing in Norway. I also know many immigration boats around that time were headed to the U.S. I suppose I could look for records in the US within that same year, since it took 1 to 3 months or boats to arrive. However, I believe he did indeed land in Norway.
Any advice how to find him there would be much appreciated!

Trevor, the information from the emigration record you found likely came from the following household record for that:
Ledsjö (R) AI:5 (1882-1891) Image 199 / Page 187
In the notes for him, it looks like he moved to Norway and requested a work visa there. However, in the notes for his father, Johan Ericksson, the priest says he is "Probably in America" and that same note is ditto'd down to Adam.
There is also this record for him that adds more clarification:
Ledsjö (R) AI:5 (1882-1891) Image 40 / Page 27
After doing a quick search in ArkivDigital's household record index for a man named Adam with the same birth date and place, it looks like he actually comes back to Sweden in 1910 with two kids (born in 96 and 99). The following are two (but not all) of the household records from that time period.
Skillingmark (S) AIIa:1 (1896-1916) Image 2510 / Page 236
Skillingmark (S) AIIa:2 (1917-1927) Image 2140 / Page 210
They mention the children being born in Eidsvold, Norway which gives you a place to look for birth records. They also indicate that Adam became a widower in 1900, and moved from Norway to Skillingmark in 1910.
I'll attach the documents I mentioned below. I hope this gives you a good timeline to work with and possibly to find him in Norway! Good Luck!

It looks like Eidsvoll is in Akershus, Norway, the following is a link to the FamilySearch wiki page for Eidsvoll. There are links on this page to the 1900 and 1910 census for Norway. Both of which might be helpful to you as you try to find Adam there.

Nice photos of Fritz, Astrid and their parents in MyHeritage Family Trees https://www.myheritage.com/research/record-1-178159891-2-724/fritz-leopold-johansen-in-myheritage-family-trees?s=208741431 This tree indicates Mina was born in Holden, Akerhus, Norway and they were married 23 January 1885.

SavviG: Thank you so much! I'm just now trying to process all of this and get it sourced in FamilySearch. Thank you for providing the actual documents too. Let me see if I can navigate how to properly reference your data and have FS show Adam, his wife and two sons.

Shari: So I do the sourcing properly (never done one from this website), for the above how do I properly list the citation?

Thank you for this help, Shari! Unfortunaetly, I don't have a Myheritage account--yet--so can't reference the photo, etc in FamilySearch. Looking for Mina (Wife) in the Digitalarkivet site.
Can you ensure I'm reading this reference of their marriage properly? I've attached what I think is their record from the source you provided:
Is Mina's last name "Fredrika"? and I'm just NOW learning how to read the Norwegian records, so sorry for my lack of ability. I'm learning quickly. Most of my past was Swedish.....so I'll get there....

Trevor, how one sources their work is a personal choice and there are various methods and levels of detail. I'm not a pro at citations. You can use the URL as part of the citation, or you could go to the record and then source it using Record Seek. https://recordseek.com/ As long as your citation can lead the investigator to the record then I feel you've done well.

Shari:
Do Norwegian traditions in the 1890s also follow the patronymic or had they stopped that by then? Want to label Fritz Leopold as either Johansen or Adamason.

@Trevor K Hanson , you are doing great. We are all trying new things and doing our best. I think the name is Mina Fredriksdatter, (it was abbreviated) We can see more examples of her name in various records. If you want me to capture the photos I'm happy to do that for you.

I believe I found the answer. At that time (late 1800s) they were following Patronymic. Correct? So I've updatd it to read, as the 1900 Census as Fritz Leopold Adamsen

I need clarify this is Mina b. 1899. d. 14 March 1983 Skillingmark. This is from the MyHeritage tree so I don't know it's accuracy.

Shari: Incredible. Seeing these invokes a bit of emotion in me--and I'm not normally an outward emotional type. Just because I have spent a great deal of time in the Swedish records and seldom came across photos of families in those days back in Sweden. I can't thank you enough.

Oh PLEASE do. I'll upload them instantly. I just uploaded Frits and his mom. Does there happen to be one of Adam as well? It brings joy to bring this family together like this.

Please see my edit above for the photo of Mina so she is attached to the correct person. There was not a photo in MyHeritage for Mina b. 1864.

Shari: So is this Mina likely a daughter of Adam J. and Mina F? See the attached family tree I've added just this morning with you and other's help. I do want to get the photo corrected, just not sure I'm following to whom it should be attached.

Mina Johansen (f. Olsdatter Bjertneshagen) born 15 April 1898 Akerhus, Norway. (MyHeritage tree) Again, I am just sharing and can't verify the accuracy. She married Fritz Leopold.

Is see. We can't confirm this Mina Johansen picture is Mina Fredricksdatter. The date of birth would clearly indicate "no".

The Mina (f. Olsdatter) photo I shared is the wife of Fritz Leopold.

Shari: By chance was there a photo of Johan Fredrek?
