Loading Over and Over

I was using the new Pedigree to display Family Tree info in the form I like that helps understand Large families with similar names in several generations while having a tab open in descendency and could not open it in another tab. The TAB would try to load over and over without showing any display information (blank page) it would try to load over and over, I was using FireFox. I would have to use the back button to get back to the person's details page no pedigree would show up on the new screen tab it would try to load over and over.

    @thomaswayneallgood1, we appreciate your feedback, and obviously do not want to release features that are terribly broken. However, I have attempted to re-create your scenario with multiple tabs in the latest Firefox 109.0.1, and was unable to trigger any sort of infinite reload situation.


    If you are still seeing this problem, I would recommend what the support team usually does, that you make sure your browser is up-to-date and clear your browser's cache and cookies. Sometimes the site data gets into a bad state, and that is the only way to straighten things out. If things still remain broken for you, then please give us details of exactly what OS, browser, and exact steps to follow, and we will be happy to triage further.

    This is happening to me whenever I try to view any tree.

    I am using Firefox 113.0.1 on Ubuntu 20.04.

    For example: I click on the item "Tree" in the second navigation row, the screen blanks for a while, shows the navigation rows for a fraction of a second, and then blanks again. This continues to cycle with no tree ever appearing.

    It was discovered that ProtonVPN treated Split.io, the A/B solution we use, as an ad source or tracker, and blocked connections, resulting in this behavior. Once the new pedigree was fully released, this behavior went away. It will likely resurface in the future as other features are rolled out in a similar way, but this issue is "fixed".
